Testimonials:

Lucy worked for Stats NZ for nine months, leading the authorship of our refreshed strategy and managing the process for content development. During this time, Lucy added a great deal of value through creative problem solving and strategic insights.

One area where Lucy’s contribution particularly stood out was when she provided an alternative to the existing organisational purpose statement to make it more people-focused. While initially this was met with resistance, through exposure to Lucy’s consulting work across the organisation, the leadership team and myself eventually agreed that it was the better thing to do in the long run to build social license and resonate with the organisation, partners, customers and stakeholders. We are very happy with Lucy’s work.”
— Mark Sowden, CEO of Stats NZ
Lucy just gets it. She takes the time to really understand what you are trying to do and say and then finds the right way to explain it in words. It’s a real skill and one she excels in!
— Chris Henry, Managing Director of 818 Entertainment PR
Lucy is a talented creative and copywriter with strong analytical skills allowing her to effectively empathise and connect with her audience.

Working with Lucy on the Stats NZ strategy refresh was a fantastic experience!

Lucy hit the ground running as soon as she joined us. She reached out across the organisation from Executive leadership level down to build strong relationships and gain a solid understanding of not only the business itself, but what people believed the organisation’s direction and focus should be – and she did this at pace!

Bringing together this complex web of discussions / wants / needs / requests and transforming it into the clear and concise document that is our strategy refresh, and framing it in a way that actually resonated with our people (internal and external), was a feat of pure genius! Lucy’s ability to apply a te ao Māori lens to our strategic story by working collaboratively with our Te Tohu Rautaki Angitu Māori Team was appreciated, not only organisation-wide, but by our stakeholders too.

As a result of Lucy’s excellent work, it would be a challenge to remember the last time we had this level of buy-in on an organisational strategy – and this has been brilliant to see!

I worked with Lucy on co-creating a new strategic direction and narrative for Statistics NZ | Te Tautaranga Aotearoa. Lucy was in charge of the strategy and narrative over a period of time, and as Principal Adviser Communications Māori, co-designed on the alignment with our te ao Māori perspectives, ensuring they were captured accurately and authentically.

Lucy was a pleasure to work with. She’s incredibly agile and forward thinking, and has a natural mana-enhancing approach to working in the Māori space. In my vast experience, this is a rare skill. Lucy understands how to enable different perspectives to gather momentum in a piece of work, but make it clear and precise, and always future focused. Her approach to working with te ao Māori was respectful and constructive, and our te ao Māori team adored her.

She’s also highly strategic, and approaches collaboration and co-design in the best possible way, trusting the process and those involved. The outcome of her work was on point, and she drove consensus with leadership on key themes with skill and mana.

I learned a lot from Lucy. She is grounded in the best possible outcomes for the kaupapa at hand. Her work at Stats NZ supported management, particularly the CE, to successfully land the new strategy. His key messages were on point, and staff welcomed the new tagline Lucy created – About Aotearoa, for Aotearoa.
— Priscilla Rasmussen, Principal Communications Advisor Māori, Stats NZ
The process was very easy and professional. Lucy spent the time with us to ensure our needs were met and that the end product was something we could be proud of. Lucy has a creative approach and thinks outside the box. We would have no issues recommending her services and using her for internal and external projects.

Lucy worked with the newly established Social Media Team at Farmers, and supported us to get our strategy ahead of schedule. Very quickly, she got her head around systems, advanced our calendar and wrote copy with flair. I would have no hesitation recommending Lucy for opportunities where team integration, a can-do attitude and agility are key requirements.
— Libby Angus - Social Media team lead at Farmers
You may ask yourself if having Lucy consult on, craft and execute your brand story is worth the investment - until your customer base grows, and engagement happens with everything she creates! Her value is invaluable.
